Located in the heart of Pouilly-Fuissé, Roc des Boutires is a small estate dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay. Its vineyards sit beneath the iconic Roche de Solutré, producing wines that combine the richness of the Mâconnais with the precision and mineral character of great Burgundy.

The Estate

Roc des Boutires entered a new chapter in 2017 when it was acquired by the Parinet family, owners of Château du Moulin-à-Vent. The estate covers just 4.2 hectares spread across some of the finest hillside vineyards in Pouilly-Fuissé. Under the direction of winemaker Brice Laffond, the focus remains on meticulous vineyard work, low yields and the pursuit of site-driven Chardonnay.

Vineyards and Terroir

The estate farms fourteen parcels on the slopes surrounding Solutré-Pouilly. Old Chardonnay vines grow on limestone-rich soils with varying exposures and elevations, bringing both complexity and freshness to the wines. Organic vineyard practices, manual harvesting and parcel-by-parcel management preserve the individuality of each site. The close proximity to the Roche de Solutré contributes to the distinctive mineral profile that defines the estate’s wines.

Winemaking

Each parcel is vinified separately to highlight its individual identity. Fermentation and ageing are carefully managed to balance texture, freshness and mineral expression. Oak is used with restraint, supporting rather than dominating the fruit and terroir. Extended lees ageing enhances depth and complexity while preserving precision and elegance.

Wine Style

The wines are elegant and layered, offering notes of citrus, white flowers, orchard fruit and wet stone. Richness is balanced by vibrant acidity and pronounced limestone-driven tension. These Chardonnays combine immediate appeal with the structure and concentration required for graceful ageing.
