Vignerons de Florensac wine range

Founded in 1934, Vignerons de Florensac brings together hundreds of growers dedicated to expressing the fresh, maritime character of Picpoul de Pinet through wines rooted in the Mediterranean coast.

The Estate

Located between Sète and Agde, near the Thau Lagoon, Vignerons de Florensac is one of the historic cooperatives of the Picpoul de Pinet appellation. Established in 1934, the cooperative today works with approximately 260 winegrowing families farming some of the region’s most prized vineyard sites. Generations of local growers have helped establish Picpoul de Pinet as one of France’s benchmark white wine appellations and a reference for seafood pairings.

Vineyards and Terroir

The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils overlooking both the Thau Lagoon and the Mediterranean Sea. Cooling maritime influences moderate summer temperatures and preserve freshness throughout the growing season. This unique coastal environment contributes the citrus brightness, minerality and distinctive saline character that define the wines of Picpoul de Pinet.

Winemaking

The focus remains on preserving purity, freshness and varietal expression. Grapes are typically harvested at night to maintain natural acidity before gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Selected wines undergo lees ageing to add texture and complexity while maintaining their vibrant profile. Sustainable farming practices are employed throughout the vineyards, and the cooperative achieved HVE certification in 2021.

Wine Style

Fresh, lively and distinctly Mediterranean. Expect aromas of lemon, grapefruit, green apple and white flowers, supported by bright acidity and a refreshing saline finish. These wines excel alongside oysters, shellfish, grilled fish and a wide range of Mediterranean cuisine.
