Domaine Philippe Colin

Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Philippe Colin was established in 2004 following the division of the family’s historic estate. Drawing on generations of winemaking experience, Philippe Colin has built a reputation for producing precise and elegant wines from some of the Côte de Beaune’s most sought-after vineyard sites.

The Estate

The domaine farms approximately 12 hectares of vineyards across Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. Its holdings include a number of Premier Cru vineyards, allowing Philippe Colin to craft wines that highlight the diversity and quality of Burgundy’s finest terroirs while maintaining a consistent house style built on balance and finesse.

Vineyards and Terroir

The vineyards are planted on classic limestone and clay-limestone soils that have made the Côte de Beaune famous for both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Premier Cru sites such as Les Chenevottes and Les Chaumées contribute depth, minerality and ageing potential, while the varied exposures and elevations of the parcels bring nuance and complexity to the range.

Winemaking

Viticulture follows a sustainable approach with careful vineyard management and hand harvesting throughout the estate. In the cellar, each parcel is vinified separately to preserve its individuality. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels, with moderate use of new oak to support texture and structure while allowing vineyard character to remain at the forefront.

Wine Style

The white wines are known for their precision, purity and mineral tension, offering layers of citrus, orchard fruit and subtle oak integration. The reds are elegant and finely structured, combining freshness with depth and complexity. Across the portfolio, the wines are defined by balance, refinement and excellent ageing potential.
