Based in Saint-Romain, Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson is one of Burgundy’s longstanding family estates. Rooted in the Côte de Beaune for generations, the domaine has played an important role in establishing the reputation of Saint-Romain while producing wines that combine freshness, precision and authenticity.
The Estate
The Buisson family has cultivated vines in Saint-Romain for centuries and began bottling estate wines in 1947. Today, brothers Franck and Frédérick Buisson continue the family tradition, overseeing a domaine that has become a reference for organic and biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy.
Vineyards and Terroir
The estate farms 14 hectares across Saint-Romain, Meursault, Pommard and Corton. The elevated vineyards of Saint-Romain are planted on limestone-rich soils and benefit from a cooler climate that preserves freshness and acidity. Across the domaine, the diversity of sites allows each appellation to express its own character while maintaining a shared sense of balance and purity.
Winemaking
Organic farming has been practiced for decades, with full certification achieved in 2009 and biodynamic methods progressively integrated into vineyard management. In the cellar, the approach is thoughtful and restrained, allowing the fruit and vineyard character to remain at the forefront. Oak is used with precision to support structure and complexity without masking origin.
Wine Style
The whites are vibrant and mineral, offering tension, texture and energy. The reds emphasize elegance, freshness and finesse, with fine tannins and bright fruit. Across the range, the wines reflect the cooler profile and distinctive identity of Saint-Romain and the Côte de Beaune.
