Jean-Baptiste Duperray is part of a new generation of Beaujolais producers focused on vineyard expression and traditional winemaking. His Beaujolais Nouveau is produced from carefully farmed vineyards and crafted to highlight freshness, purity and drinkability rather than simple fruitiness.
The Estate
Working in the heart of Beaujolais, Jean-Baptiste Duperray farms vineyards with a strong focus on soil health and sustainable viticulture. As a member of Terroirs Originels, he shares a commitment to preserving the identity of the region and producing wines that reflect their origin.
Vineyards and Terroir
The vineyards are planted on the granite-based soils that define many of Beaujolais’ finest sites. These well-drained soils contribute freshness, aromatic intensity and balance. Careful vineyard management and moderate yields help preserve fruit quality and varietal character.
Winemaking
The wine is produced with minimal intervention, allowing Gamay to express its natural fruit profile and energy. Gentle extraction and careful fermentation preserve freshness while maintaining texture and balance.
Wine Style
Fresh, vibrant and approachable, the wine offers notes of red berries, cherry and floral aromatics. Bright acidity and soft tannins make it enjoyable on its own or alongside charcuterie, poultry and casual seasonal cuisine.
