Muscadet sur Lie Perdrix de l'Année
Founded in 2005 by the talented winemaking duo of Jérémie Huchet (Domaine de la Chauvinière) and Jérémie Mourat (Vignobles Mourat), Les Betes Curieuses (The Curious Beasts) is a collaboration to explore the distinct terroirs of Muscadet and showcase a more serious and ageworthy side of the region. All the vineyards (40 to 90 yrs old) are certified organic. Traditional Nantaise ageing is done sur lie with no batonnage for all the cuvées.
100% melon de Bougogne. La Perdrix de l'année is translated as 'partridge of the year'. Organic certified. Forty five years old average vines grown on Clisson granitique base soil topped by a thin layer of sand. Hand harvested. Indegineous yeasts, no malolactic. Aged three months on its lees in buried concrete tanks. Not filtered
Round, fruit-filled, Muscadet - almost creamy in texture - with a touch of peach to complement the salty mineral and lime zest flavours. Brisk, bracing, and utterly delicious. Ideal companion of sea food or simply as an aperitif.
