Cotes du Rhône Villages Rouge Becs Fins
Maison Tardieu Laurent is one of the most highly acclaimed Haute Couture négociants in the Rhône. Michel Tardieu and his son Bastien run their Lourmarin winery in the Lubéron, depending on long-standing relationships with what they call their ‘partner vignerons’ throughout the Rhône Valley characterized by small yields, old vines, organic approach, large oak barrels and long ageing.
Today the production remains limited with two thirds coming from the southern Rhone and one third from the North. The wines are coveted by connoisseurs throughout the world and have earned consistently high praise from numerous respected wine critics. Anyone interested in exploring the splendors of the Rhone Valley would be fortunate to do it with the wines of Tardieu-Laurent!
60% old vine grenache, 40% syrah. Blend of vineyards located in the Gard region. The old vines are rooted in a sandy terroir mixed with round pebbles. Aged 12 months in concrete tank. No fining, no filtration.
Rich and herbal – one whiff and I’m back down in the southern Rhône! Sweet start and already almost drinkable in terms of fruit ripeness and weight, even if there is quite a framework of tannin. Something serious and medicinal. Long and persistent finish.
