Domaine Vendange - Vin de Savoie Mondeuse
Located on the foothills of the Massif des Bauges in Saint Pierre d’Albigny, a short distance away from the Mont Blanc Mountain, Domaine Vendange extends over 10 hectares, on south facing slopes where Jacquère, Altesse, Gamay, Pinot Noir and Mondeuse fully express their authentic typical aromas. The Vendange family has been involved with the viticulture and agronomic industries for quite some time as they are one of the largest vine nurseries in the region. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Benjamin Vendange returned to the family property in 2015 . With his partner Diane Gounel, oenologist from Languedoc -Roussillon, the step was taken to start their own estate with the family’s holdings.
Organic (no certification). Fully destemmed. Long temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged 12 months in a 50/50 mix stainless tanks/used barrels.
The nose offers floral violet, myrtle, blackcurrant and spicy white pepper notes. Supported by a pleasant tannic structure, the palate is fleshy with notes of cocoa, small black berries and pepper. It is very well-balanced, finishing moderately long. This wine will age very well. This wine needs decanting to fully express itself.
