Regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy, Domaine Duband has been recognized recently by La Revue du Vin de France (one of France’s leading wine guides), when they awarded the Domaine their coveted 3 stars, along with other super stars like DRC, Leroy and Georges Roumier. Certified organic since 2010, the 17 hectare estate produces 23 different appellations from Nuits St Georges to Gevrey Chambertin.
100% pinot noir. From several parcels of old vines averaging 65 years old located mostly north of Gevrey Chambertin with 10% coming from closer to Morey St Denis below the village. Hand harvested. 80% whole cluster. Two week long maceration in stainless steel tanks. Aged 14 months in new oak barrels (40%) and used oak barrels (60%). No fining, no filtration.
Rich and polished, this red displays tart cherry, tobacco, spice and flint aromas and flavors. The taut structure keeps this well-defined and emphasizes the length on the finish.
