The BEAUMONT family’s wine growing activity stretches back seven generations. In 1991, Thierry took over the family domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis, creating the “Domaine des BEAUMONT” name, exclusive to the family. They originally sold their entire harvest to négociants. Thierry only switched to selling wine in bottles in 1999, making a significant investment in facilities and professional equipment enabling the domaine to produce very fine, expressive, deep and powerful red wines.
The vineyards, cover nearly 6 hectares and include (besides the Pinot Noir of course) a rare white Morey-Saint-Denis (Chardonnay) since 2004. Managed according to sustainable viticulture principles, they extend over the villages of Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny and include superb Grand Cru parcels (Charmes Chambertin and Mazoyères Chambertin since 2014) and Premier Cru parcels (Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru “Les Combottes’, the only Burgundy Premier Cru totally surrounded by 3 Grands Crus).
The domaine’s overall production is in the range of 25-30,000 bottles.
