Laurent Gauthier is a son of Morgon! The family linage of vine growers goes way back to 1834. The estate, located in Villié-Morgon, covers 24 hectares of which about half spread over the two iconic crus of Côte du Py and Grands Cras.
The terroir is made up of “very old decaying schists”, where the typical “Morgonnesque” is fully expressed. Firmly attached to tradition, it favors the return to natural methods and in particular the collage which can lead during aging to a slight deposit but which respects the taste qualities of the wine.
Laurent Gauthier is a member of TERROIRS ORIGINELS, a collective of independent winemakers from Beaujolais and the Maconnais.
